Wedding accessories inspired by botanicals for nature lovers.
Choosing botanical inspired wedding hair accessories and jewellery is a popular, and beautiful way to incorporate nature into your wedding day. Many brides feel they want to embrace mother nature more in their nuptials and one way to tie the theme together is by wearing accessories and jewellery that reflect flora and fauna.
weave nature into your bridal attire
Our lives are intertwined with nature. And it’s a romantic, and poignant way to celebrate nature by choosing your accessories and jewellery to complement. So I’ve put together a selection of headdresses and jewellery that might inspire you to wear them.
botanical style bridal hair pins, combs and headdresses
So, lets start with fauna style bridal hair pins. Do you love birds, bees and butterflies? Are dragonflies a favourite? When you think of spring and summer weddings then these are the insects that you would typically think of. The real signs of warmer weather, and bluer skies.
The Painted Lady hair pins are just delightful. Each pearlised wing looks so delicate and almost irridescent. You can pair them with the most floral of gowns, and they will especially suit lace wedding dresses, and all sorts of updo’s.
If you love bees and butterflies, then the Eglantine hair pins will be perfect. With 3 small vine like pins, you can pin them anywhere in the hair, and even short hair as they are so light. They would be especially good for bridesmaids, or flower girls, where they can be added at the last minute without too much fuss.
If sparkle is your choice, and you still want to add a botanical feel to your wedding outfit then you could choose Damselflies and Butterfly hair pins which are larger and more of a statement. You’ll want some of your hair to be pinned up in to place for these, or perhaps a gorgeous bridal braid.
For delicacy I think the Dawn Chorus hair pins are a great match if you are wearing your hair up. Scattered through the hair they are a great understated accessory to wear, especially if you’re also wearing a crown.
And finally, there is the Woodland Comb which is like a little mini meadow with butterflies. It’s such a delightful design, and one that looks gorgeous in a chignon.
Floral and leaf wedding crowns
These are such a favourite with brides, and with plenty of choice, and comfortable to wear styles it’s easy to see why. You can have the beauty of flowers in your hair, complementing your hair style, but without the worry of them wilting or disappearing after the day. It’s possible to personalise your headdress too, and there is a choice of colourways too.
I’ll begin with the Midsummer Crown, which is delightful with its large full leaves and just a hint of sparkle. It’s a statement piece, but without the fuss. If you’d like something a little softer and with just a floral element.
Then the Annabelle Crown will delight with the handmade hydrangea like flowers and ivory pearls. It’s equal in its beauty and simplicity.
One that has been a bridal favourite for a long time, is the Dancing Bee Tiara , with the most delicate little bee installed among organically placed pearls, and flower stranded elements.
The Genevieve Crown is definitely for the ‘flower child’ in you. It’s striking trio of flowers, with gold, or silver filigree leaves will sit so comfortably with any garden or out in the country relaxed style wedding.
If delicacy, simplicity and a love for the historical is your vibe, then I do think you should consider the Hazel Crown. It sits atop your head, and blends so beautifully with either long or short hair. Whether you choose to wear your hair up or down, you can’t go wrong with this headdress.
For modern simplicity, you can wear Astrid . Perhaps you want your dress to shine, and your jewellery to be centre stage. Then this crown in a great style to wear with its delicate gold leaves and creamy freshwater pearls, and twinkling diamante.
nature inspired bridal hair vines
The very nature of hair vines weaving through the hair, and winding around a bridal hair style just like a flower or leafy plant vine twining and branching its way to the sunlight, means that it lends itself perfectly to a nature or botanical inspired wedding.
The Juniper hair vine is just that. Relaxed, weaving and unassuming. A classic example of a botanical styled hair vine that can be worn in so many ways. Wear it as a delicate headband, and attach a veil to the back to complete your look. Or twist it through a braided bridal hair style for a great reflection of nature.
If you’re considering something with a bit more drama, then the Clematis halo is what you should choose. It is packed with winding stems of pearls and flowers and is a versatile hair vine for many hair types and styles.
The Seraphine hair vine was designed with messy buns in mind. Easy to wear and pin in, and made to look like wild flowers. You can easily pin it over a veil to cover the comb, and it’s a style that can be worn with braids, or side detail hair styles. If you are looking for something more whimsical, then I would suggest you try Rambling Rose which is quite heavenly. Handmade flowers in various stages of opening and an informal spray of pearls makes it an easy choice for brides who love flowers.
choosing jewellery that has botanical elements
Jewellery that is influenced by nature
You don’t have to make a huge statement to incorporate a botanical feel into your wedding. You can be as bold and as subtle as you like, and one way to do this is with your jewellery. Earrings are probably the most obvious way to do this.
I’ve picked the Evangeline floral hoops as my first choice as they are a popular style for brides. With their lustrous mother of pearl flowers, and flawless freshwater pearls, they make the prettiest statement.
The Damson earrings are a delightful take on a traditional chandelier style pearl earring. These have been popular since they were released in my 2019 collection and they are still a best seller. These wreath style pearl drop botanical earrings are are the perfect earrings for a lace wedding gown, and take you seamlessly from your ceremony into the night time festivities.
If you are looking for something ultra feminine, then the Bellflower earrings are just the ticket. The delicate cup shaped flowers sway gently as you move, and will suit almost any style of bridal dress and will really reflect your unique style.
Undeniably leafy are the Azalea Earrings with their textured leaf motif with chunky ivory pearl drop. While they speak to those who love all things botanical, they also have an air of sophistication ensuring that whatever bridal gown you wear, they’ll elevate your style to perfection.
