Real festival wedding inspiration for a relaxed bride – Rhianna’s story

A wedding of festival tents and rainbow coloured flags

Real festival wedding inspiration for a relaxed bride

Are you considering a wedding with festival vibes? Do you want rainbow flags, tents decorated with pretty coloured bunting, and love the idea of live music? Well feast your eyes on this real festival wedding for inspiration from a relaxed bride Rhianna and her partner Michael.

Years of festivals and the reason behind their festival wedding

After spending many years attending festivals together and loving being in the moment, dancing under the stars, and surrounded by happy people, colour and campside fun, Rhianna and Michael had a very clear vision of what they wanted for their wedding day.  A full festival vibe, including Tipi, festival flags and firepit.

It all felt very serendipitous when they found Newlands Bishop Farm in Solihull. It is a charity run venue for those who share a passion for the outdoors and a desire to craft a truly unique and captivating wedding experience. It is part of the ‘Family Care Trust’, a charitable organization dedicated to supporting adults with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and brain injuries; and with both Rhianna and Michael’s mums both having worked in the care sector for those with learning disabilities, it felt the perfect, most memoraby location for them to get married.

Choosing relaxed hair accessories for a festival wedding

Rhianna lived not too far from my studio in Birmingham, so she came to visit me and we had a long chat about her wedding, chosen colours with a festival theme and the gown and hair style she wanted for herself and her bridesmaids.

Rhianna was very keen to pull the festival theme through to her outfit and accessories, and so hair flowers had to be the choice.

As I mentioned, Rhianna tried on a few hair pieces before she settled on the Clematis hair pins.  To be honest, after showing Rhianna a few styles, her eyes lit up when the Clematis pins went in. They were perfect.

The Clematis hair pins are a perfect accessory for this style of wedding. They wind romantically in a vine like arrangement harmonised by a trio of handmade ivory coloured flowers that can sit anywhere in an updo, and will look just as pretty in a sleek structured bun, as an undone, slightly windswept look for the outdoors.

It was a pleasure making them for Rhianna, and she popped back to the studio to collect them when they were ready.

Memorable relaxed family affair wedding

They hired the venue for the whole weekend and made it a family affair decorating and setting up the tipi’s. They even had a barbeque breakfast for all the overnight guests on the Sunday morning after the wedding.

Festival wedding colours and decorations

The gorgeous wedding colours were blush pink, green and gold and Rhianna carried these tones through from the decorations to the wedding flowers, favours and bridesmaid dresses. Not to mention her gold bridal hair accessories.

With Festival flags, bale sofas, a fire pit and of course friends and family, what more could you want.
